The Neuroscience Behind Resistance to Brain Aging
Dr. Ramunė Dirvanskienė (Vilnius University, Lithuania)

Abstract:
During the talk, she will cover the neurological processes that take place in the brain as we age and the factors that accelerate or slow them, such as lifestyle and personality. The main focus is placed on the latest scientific studies evaluating the effectiveness of various interventions to reduce the risk of dementia.

 

About the speaker:
Dr. Ramunė Dirvanskienė is an Associate Professor at Vilnius University and a popular neuropsychology book author ("How the brain works"). She earned her PhD from the University of Edinburgh and gained clinical experience at the Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic, working on research projects and clinical trials. Her areas of interest include brain aging, neurodegenerative diseases, and cognitive epidemiology. Among her professional activities, she organizes conferences for Lithuanian Psychology Association’s Neuropsychology group and, together with Vilnius University Consulting and Training Centre, runs workshops on neuropsychological assessment for healthcare specialists. In Lithuania, Dr. Ramunė Dirvanskienė is known for her public lectures and many media interviews popularizing brain science. Her company BrainLectures offers popular neuroscience lectures for corporate events, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions.
